Creative Acts have the power to transform us  By connecting to the Creative Power within, Spiritpainting® can help a person to break through ‘creative blocks’ and enhance their Spiritual connection to their Creator- whatever that may be for the individual. This "breakthrough" with Spiritpainting, is what happened with me. Before being gifted with this method, I was struggling for two decades to finish any painting I began. When I did paint, I was never satisfied with being able to express the joy when connected to my Creator until I began Spiritpainting®. The fractal nature of them touches me in places which I cannot explain.

The paintings, themselves, have led me to investigate their meanings, by learning and researching about colour therapy, vibrational healing, iconography, symbology, and quantum theory.

A Client-Centered Approach

When people ask me "How are they done? Just by folding the paper? Like a Rorschach ink blot?  I respond,  "My modality is different than the inkblots that used for psychological testing.  The individual does their own painting and sees what they need to see and expresses it verbally, without judgement or diagnosis from the practitioner or instructor. It does not matter what others see in the person's painting; it only matters what the "spiritpainter" sees. If someone says they see something in another person's Spiritpainting, then it is usually meant for them, alone. For example, if someone sees angels and another sees devils in the same abstract image of a painting, this is purely subjective and would lead to the practitioner asking what they make of it.  There is no one 'pat' "Freudian" reason, and it may be different for different people.

Re: Healing:  My previous years of experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist have taught me that when we access the "logical" and "creative" aspects of the brain in a therapeutic activity, then healing is faster and more powerful. Anytime one explores through any form of Creative Expression, the opportunity for healing is greater if verbal and non-verbal expression are integrated into the therapy.

The idea and urge to use this method as a form of Creative Expression came to me in 1997. I am infinitely grateful for this gift, and I have respectfully and with humility responded to the requests to share it in whatever way I am able.  I have begun to understand the Universal truth of how we manifest our thoughts, consciously or unconsciously.

Each creation is individual, and each Spiritpainting® is unique, mysterious and, interestingly and it is impossible to forge a copy. Each and every time I unfold the paper, it is a surprise. Sometimes it is difficult to put into words what I see, but I can always say what I feel. I keep going until I get the breathless "Awe". That is when I know that my painting is done.
